Description
Crisp Flaked Torrefied Barley is a versatile brewing adjunct made from barley grains that have been cooked at high temperatures, resulting in the gelatinization of the starchy endosperm. This process gives the barley a slightly stronger flavor than its wheat counterpart, making it an excellent choice for stouts and other beer styles that benefit from enhanced body and mouthfeel. Additionally, it promotes excellent head retention, adding a creamy texture to the final product. Unlike some adjuncts, Crisp Flaked Torrefied Barley does not require milling and retains its husk, making it a great option for use in recipes with a high percentage of huskless grains.
